Taylor Momsen Biography

In a nutshell

She's the Gossip Girl actress-turned rebellious punk singer and unofficial role model for teenage girls everywhere (much to their mother's dismay). She may only be sweet sixteen but there's no grounding Taylor Momsen.
Her career started at the age of three with a 'Shake'n Bake' commercial and Taylor has been working ever since (perhaps the rebellion is understandable) including a role in 2000 film The Grinch alongside Jim Carrey.
She got down to the last three for the title role of Hannah Montana but was pipped to the post by Miley Cyrus. This turned out to be just as well as Taylor later landed a, like, way cooler part in hit TV series Gossip Girl playing Jenny Humphrey.
This was just a day job for Taylor though, who was busy morphing into glam-grunge girl rocker by night with her band The Pretty Reckless. Their debut single Make Me Wanna Die was featured on the Kick-Ass film soundtrack and she has already toured with The Veronicas. her debut album Light Me Up is due for release in summer 2010.
The acting has clearly taken a back foot to Taylor's musical homage to Courtney Love though, and rumour has it that Taylor may soon be hanging up her Constance Billard Uniform for good.
Taylor is currently taking a hiatus from season 4 of the series do to alleged creative differences (does 'creative differences' mean singing on stage sporting ripped tights, raccoon eye-liner and Perspex porn heels we wonder?)
If starring in a global hit series and fronting your own rock band isn't enough, Taylor has also done a side-line in modelling since the age of 14. She was recently announced as the model for John Galliano's new perfume and the face for Madonna's new fashion line 'Material girl'.
