In a nutshell

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you decided to swap around a couple of letters in your surname? For example, if your name was Mr TalkTalk, and you swapped around a couple of letters, you'd end up being Mr TlakTalk. Which sounds quite amusing. And boy did it work for young David Williams, who thought he'd be bigger, better and altogether more successful if he changed his name to David Walliams. Hahahahaah etc.
David met his comedy partner, Matt Lucas, at the National Youth Theatre and Walliams has revealed that they were friends for four years before even writing a word together.
After studying drama at the University of Bristol the pair made it into the 'mainstream' (ie, you actually watched what they were doing) with their admittedly funny spoof show, Rock Profile which was presented by lanky radio host Jamie Theakston.
Their next ? and far more successful ? project was a little show called Little Britain. Originally a radio series, the show was switched to BBC Three before being shunted across to BBC One. You all loved Vicky Pollard, laughed at Lou and Andy and wet yourself at Marjorie Daws.
David himself is always in our daily paper being pictured walking down the street with a pretty lady. We don't think this is going to change any time soon, what with their being lots of streets and even more pretty ladies... But it does leave us slightly confused ? he's often camper than a row of tents, but seems to love keeping everyone guessing.
For Sport Relief 2006 David swam the English Channel.
