Matthew Morrison Biography

In a nutshell

He shot to fame playing heartthrob teacher Will Schuester in the hit TV series Glee, but for a decade before Matthew Morrison was a respected Broadway stage star and is now about to release his very own studio album.
Matthew got into the theatre vibe after acting in school plays and musicals. He's claimed it was a great way to meet women and off-set the camp connotations by also being the high-school jock and being into soccer and athletics. (Hm... sounds like a Glee episode). He could basically high-kick on stage and high-kick on the football field. What an all-rounder.
He made his musical debut on Broadway in the Rocky Horror Show and got his big break in that never-ending stage show Hairspray as character 'Link Larkin'. His profile was lacquered and he spring-boarded into small TV roles in shows such as Sex in the City (where he played a bus-boy) and Ghost Whisperer.
The next season of Glee is scheduled for Autumn 2010 but despite his TV fame, his first love is evidently singing. He recently joined X Factor star Leona Lewis on stage at London's 02 Arena to do a duet of Over the Rainbow and his debut album is due to be released later this year. He has described it as 'Bub-Lake', a cross between crooner Michael Buble and Justin Timberlake. Yikes.
