Connelly had her first film appearance in 1984 in the film Once Upon a Time in America. In her second film, Phenomena of 1985 she received the lead role. This was followed by Jim Henson’s fantasy film Labyrinth (1986) in which they must free Sarah as a teenager her little brother Toby from the clutches of the Goblin King Jareth (played by David Bowie).
