Son of an Irish father and Russian Jewish mother, Ford attended college English and Philosophy. Made her film debut in 1966, making a cameo in The thief conqueror. Discouraged by the succession of minor roles and with a wife and two children to support, Harrison Ford dropped everything in 1970 to be a carpenter.

However, one of his customers pleaded with the director George Lucas that he should be chosen for the cast American Graffiti – American Graffiti, which has proved a resounding success. Then in 1973, he returned to the cinema, where it has remained.

Four years later, Ford became better known with the role of Han Solo in Star Wars (1977). The character Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark, Steven Spielberg, 1981, consolidated its position as the star. He came to embody the role of Indiana in three other sequences in the series. In 1986, Ford was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor for Witness.

Harrison Ford holds two records in the Guinness Book, the actor who generated the most profit at the box office and the actor to have the largest number of films that topped one hundred million dollars in U.S. box offices. It has a star on the Walk of Fame, located at 6801 Hollywood Boulevard.

His first marriage to Mary Marquardt, lasted from 1964 to 1979, and two sons were born. The second marriage in 1983, with the screenwriter of the film ET the Extra-Terrestrial, Melissa Mathison ended in November 2000 and they had two children.
