He won the Super Bowl XL and XLIII. In the latter game, he returned an interception 100 yards for more than a touchdown at the end of the first half. It was the longest game of the history of the Super Bowl.

Born in Akron, Ohio, Harrison was the youngest of 14 children of James Sr. (a chemical truck driver) and Mildred. He played baseball in Little League in Scranton, PA for Sloan Little League’s Green Team. He was selected in the team of Stars in 1001. He grew up in Akron and was the favorite NFL team the Cleveland Browns, who played only 40 miles from his house. His mother did not want to play there first.

 

He took as his best friend Harrison only child, David Walker, the convinced. When he started playing, he excelled to the position of running back to linebacker. He attended two high schools in his rookie year, Archbishop Hoban High School before the presence of the Coventry High School. He was one of the first African American to play football at Coventry and he graduated in 1998.

Its ability to high school football was big, but his lack of maturity was at times a struggle. Harrison did not pay attention to his classes or tests and college entrance by its end he had become disruptive to its football team. Early in his terminal, the staff of Coventry had to suspend him for two games for defying an assistant coach to a fight.

After he returned from his suspension, he was suspended for one game for making obscene gestures to fans (they were shouting racial slurs). Harrison was in court then, after he killed a coach and a defensive air gun in the locker room at school. He pled guilty to a minor charge and was able to return to school to finish his terminal. Because of his questions at once, the football programs like Ohio State, Notre Dame and the Nebraska lost interest him.

Nicknamed “Silverback” Harrison’s teammates also call Deebo, according to the character of the film Friday with Ice Cube. He has twochildren, James Harrison III, born in 2007 and Henry, born in 2009. Harrison chose not to visit the White House with the rest of the team after the Steelers’ Super Bowl XLIII he won. By skipping the visit he gained some media attention, Harrison also skipped the team’s visit to the White House after the Super Bowl XL when George W. Bush was president.
