In a nutshell

He smouldered on the small screen as King Henry VIII's confidante in TV series The Tudors, but now Henry Cavill is destined for the silver screen in Hollywood.
Jersey-born Henry discovered his love of acting at boarding school and got his first break there when a visiting casting agent chose him for 2002 film The Count of Monte Cristo to star alongside Guy Pearce as his on-screen son Albert Mondego.
A cluster of supporting films roles followed such as I Capture the Castle (2003) and Tristan & Isolde (2006) which led him to bigger projects that he almost, but not quite managed to get in the bag.
In 2005 Empire magazine dubbed him 'the most unlucky man in Hollywood' for a series of 'almost-roles' such as James Bond in Casino Royale (the producers eventually favoured Daniel Craig).
In 2007 though he landed the role of historical playboy Charles Brandon in the Emmy-nominated series The Tudors, where he got to compete with Jonathan Rhys-Meyers for the title of most good-looking (if historically inaccurate) royal lothario.
Henry's model good looks also earned him a contract advertising Dunhill male aftershave in 2008 where he strutted around London in a suit looking devilishly handsome and showing off his cheekbones.
Before long Hollywood was soon paying attention (at last) and he was selected as one of Vanity Fair's "Hollywood's Next-Gen Men" (a career face-lift if ever there was one) and identified as a rising star by the likes of Access Hollywood and Entertainment weekly. Take that, Daniel Craig!
In 2009 Henry's run of bad was officially over; he starred in Joel Schumacher's, horror flick Blood Creek as well as Woody Allen's comedy Whatever Works, alongside Larry David and Evan Rachel Wood.
Henry is coming to a silver screen near you soon in 2011 film Immortals alongside Freida Pinto and Mickey Rouke. Henry Cavill - Biography from (http://www.talktalk.co.uk/celebrity/biography/person/henry-cavill/271)
