In 1999, he debuted in the Hockey League West with the Regina Pats, but after five games, he became head of the Prince George Cougars. For its first season, he received 166 penalty minutes. After his second season and 245 penalty minutes, he participated in the Entry Draft in the National Hockey League. It is then chosen by the Minnesota Wild as the 202nd player drafted. It still continues in the WHL, even without his NHL debut.

He made his debut for the Wild playing first for the franchise affiliate in the American Hockey League, the Houston Aeros. For this first season in the AHL, he scored 4 points and harvested 207 minutes in penalties.
He will make his NHL debut with the Wild for the 2005-06 season and he is the player most punished by the team with 158 penalty minutes. During the season, he fights against Todd Fedoruk of the Anaheim Ducks and injured his jaw.
