In a nutshell

She's best known as Adrian Chiles' smiley sidekick on the One Show (till the two defected to GMTV) but Christine Bleakly never intended to be a TV presenter at all.
She was born, bred and buttered in County Down, where she harboured an ambition to work behind the camera in production whilst studying for a politics degree. But her vivacious good looks soon attracted attention and before long she was plucked from her job as floor manager to become a presenter at BBC Northern Ireland. Her big break came when she was brought in as a last-minute replacement for a then-pregnant Myleene Klass on new current affairs programme The One Show. Her on-screen chemistry with co-presenter Adrian Chiles led to a full-time contract and a regular audience of six million viewers.
There was much speculation about the exact nature of this chemistry when Adrian Chile's marriage broke up and the two were papped together, but they maintain they have never been more than friends. (He famously remarked that it was about as likely as West Brom signing Ronaldo.)
Besides, by this point Christine had bagged a famous footballer of her very own; one Frank Lampard, who she met after attending the Pride of Britain Awards in October 2009. Christine also took part in that de rigour rite of passage for daytime TV presenters, Strictly Come Dancing. She reached the 11th round in 2008 before being beaten in a dance-off by Rachael Stevens. (But where is Ms Stevens now, hmm?)
She's also proved she's more than a glamour puss in a posh frock when she donned a wetsuit and water-skied across the channel to raise money for Sports Relief 2010 to raise money for HIV awareness in Uganda. Christine also flexed her funny-bone when she took part in the Channel 4 Comedy Gala in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital in the 02.
Her next challenge is getting up at an ungodly hour every morning to co-present ITV's revamped breakfast show (the aptly named Daybreak) with Adrian Chiles. Still, we're sure with her sunny disposition it'll be a breeze.Christine Bleakley - Biography from (http://www.talktalk.co.uk/celebrity/biography/person/christine-bleakley/269)
