In a nutshell

You're nobody till someone loves you, as the song goes, especially if that someone is Katie Price. Alex Reid shot from a potato-faced nobody to a tabloid celebrity when he began to date the former glamour model after her split from crooner Peter Andre.
But Alex Reid aka 'The Reidinator' aka 'Rocky' aka 'Roxanne' (more of that later) attempted to scale the dizzy heights of stardom way before he fell for the busty assets of Katie Price ltd. He was, in fact, an actor starring in such films as Saving Private Ryan (as Tom Hanks' standing double), Sliding Doors (where he played a waiter) and Tomorrow Never Dies (as a car attendant).
His breakthrough role however was in the low-budget 2010 film 'Killer Bitch', where a woman is forced to go on a murder spree, or face having her friends and family killed. The film was described as pornographic and after its release Alex Reid came under fire in the press for his role in a controversial rape scene. To his credit, Reid was said to have walked off the film set early (prompting a major re-write and production shut-down) and didn't attend the film's premiere. Does The Reidinator have moral discernment after all?
His biggest starring role is of course as the husband nee boyfriend of Katie Price who he met in 2009. At the time he had left his film career behind him to concentrate on his other talent, as an MMA (that's Mixed Martial Artist not Man of Many Alter-egos). Alex Reid and has been busting his kung-fu moves since the tender age of 14 though is most famous for cage-fighting.
His career face-lift courtesy of the Jordon Juggernaut hit an obstacle when she dumped him live on air after her disastrous stint on I'm a Celebrity in 2009, when she seemed to become briefly philosophical (must have been all the bug cuisine) about her rebound relationship with the cage-fighter.
However celebrity is a contrary beast. Alex's triumphant Big Brother win in 2010 (which happened to coincide with Katie's post-I'm a Celeb trashing in the press) prompted a turnaround in their on-off relationship and they got married in Las Vegas in February 2010. A PR story made in heaven!
Alex Reid can now be seen occasionally being snapped outside nightclubs looking like Jordon's tranny sister aka his cross-dressing alter ego Roxanne.
