Ulrika Jonsson Biography

In a nutshell

Ulrika Jonsson was born in Sweden, which is one of those nice clean-living countries that we all dream of coming from. Fresh air, good transport, great food. You're getting the picture, yes? So there was bound to be something wrong with this girl when she moved over to the island we call home (foul air, bad transport, dodgy food) at the age of twelve, first popping into the spotlight as the face of TV-AM's weather coverage.
Here's only so much doom and gloom that one girl can possibly report and Ulrika moved from early mornings to early evenings with a string of hit entertainment shows, including the now legendary Gladiators on ITV, Dog Eat Dog on BBC One and The National Lottery.
One of our favourite shows featuring Jonsson is definitely comedy panel game, Shooting Stars. The constant target of abuse from Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer (whatever happened to Bob?), Ulrika managed to take it all on the chin as one of the two team captains.
Everybody has some ups and downs in their love life but you're going to have to bear with us for Ulrika's quick 'recap'. She married a TV cameraman in 1990, Johnny Turnbull, but, possibly with a fetish for men with large lenses, had an affair with another cameraman while she worked on Gladiators. She did get back with the original cameraman and they had a son. But wait, that wasn't enough for one lifetime! She got together with one of the beefy Gladiators, Hunter (real name James ? not quite as showbiz). Are you still following?? Stan Collymore ? the footie player ? was another of her partners but it was later claimed that she was the victim of domestic abuse.
There's a whole other load of stories we could tell you about ? John Leslie and Sven-Goran Eriksson for starters ? but we'd be here all day.
