In a nutshell

Like a lot of our celebrities, Phillip started out by getting a job working at the BBC. He moved from Oldham to London at the age of 17, working as a bookings clerk (sounds like a posh name for a receptionist if you ask us) within BBC Radio.
He moved, along with his family, to New Zealand at the age of 19 where he landed his first television presenting role on a children's music show. It was only upon his return a few years later that he started presenting Children's BBC, live from the legendary broom cupboard.
In 1987 he started presenting the Saturday morning show 'Going Live!' with Sarah Green. And a loveable sock puppet named Gordon the Gopher.
After children's TV, Phillip went on to present some of the biggest shows on the box. Starting with ITV's Talking Telephone Numbers through to things like National Lottery: Winning Lines, This Morning, Test the Nation and Dancing on Ice.
We've just remembered something... Phillip did a musical! If you were a Joseph fan in the 90s you'll know that Silverfox himself took the lead role in the West End, singing his heart out each and every night possibly excluding Sundays we're not quite sure but we definitely bought the CD when it came out.
Phillip met his wife, Stephanie, when they both worked on children's TV together. Phillip Schofield - Biography from (http://www.talktalk.co.uk/celebrity/biography/person/phillip-schofield/169)
