Jill Scott is born in the U.S. Philadelphia and grew up and began her career as an artist so that they in the 8th Class wrote his own poems. Encouraged by the popularity experienced it begins later, the poems transform it into song lyrics. At an event it is by Roots drummer Ahmir Khalib Thompson (stage name: “uestlove” Thompson Amir) discovered. Together they wrote the song “You Got Me,” which become a world hit in 1999 and receives a Grammy for best rap performance.

A year later in 2000 released her debut album “Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol 1″, which is honored with two platinum records and brings her three Grammy nominations.
