In a nutshell

Oh, we have to admit that we don't really know much about little David Mitchell. Do you? Really? Do you really know anything about the guy? Didn't think so. But hang on, we think we've managed to dig a few things up...
One half of the comedy duo Mitchell & Webb, David started out at Cambridge University where he met Robert Webb. Although looking at him you wouldn't think he was immediately the type of man you could laugh along with, rather than simply laugh at, the pair hit it off and have created a number of golden comedy moments in what is only a short career so far.
He's admitted that he used to pretend he wanted to be a barrister in order to keep his parents happy, but in reality quite fancied being a comedian. Obviously that isn't the type of thing most parents go happily along with, so it wasn't until University that he realised it was actually okay to get on with it...
Their biggest hit is undoubtedly the Channel 4 sitcom Peep Show, with even Ricky Gervais proclaiming his excitement about it. Even posh people like it, with a Best TV Comedy award being given from The South Bank Show Awards.
