We've found out that Monica from Friends has an alternative name, and that name is Courtney Cox. You might have heard it mentioned before. Actually, now Monica is married she's got a slightly different name, which is Courtney Bass Cox Arquette. Confused? We are.
So yeah, we all know Courtney Cox because she played the wonderfully neurotic Monica in classic sitcom Friends. But what else has she done in her life? There must be something to mention...
Courtney started out in Bruce Springsteen's music video for his single, Dancing in the Dark and, in an even more controversial step, was the first woman on American television to say the word PERIOD (in its physiological sense, kids) in a tampon advert. Actually, we're loving Courtney a little more every time we find out what other stuff she's done.
Ever seen the [terrible] Masters of the Universe film? She was in that! Quality. And Cocoon: The Return? Another classic, which Courtney's also in. And once you tick off Seinfeld and Ace Ventura, she's definitely a winner in our eyes.
Next up, of course, came the massive sitcom Friends. Courtney played the role of Monica ? probably not out favourite character in the series but definitely up there with the best of them.
One of our favourite roles for Courtney was as Gale Weathers in the Scream trilogy ? part heartless-bitch reporter part hero, Gale is definitely one we'd like to see return.
