Christina Maria Aguilera (what a sweet name, eh?) was born on 18 December 1980 in Staten Island, New York and has talked in the past about her violent father when she was growing up, even writing some lyrics on her album 'Stripped' about it; 'Living in a war called home'.
Brilliantly musical from an early age, Christina appeared on a show that pushy Mums would absolutely love ? Star Search. She was only 8 years old at the time and ? just like our other pop favourites Britney and Justin ? joined the cast of the Mickey Mouse Club, being super cute and singing and presenting TV and stuff.
In 1998 Aguilera continued her work with Disney by recording a song for the soundtrack to the film Mulan, and she was soon signed to record label RCA. This was the start of her massive musical career with just some of her hits including Genie In A Bottle, What A Girl Wants and the quite-frankly-pretty-saucy-especially-the-bit-in-the-video-where-she-starts-getting-water-poured-all-over-her Dirrty.
Hold your horses, men of the world. We haven't heard much about this, but Christina is actually married! She met her husband Jordan Bratman (yes, that's his name) and they married in 2005. Just to kick more dirt in your face, he's a rich record executive. Bah!
