Ryan Kwanten Biography

Ryan Kwanten (born November 28, 1976) is an Australian actor who played Vinnie Patterson from 1997 to 2002 in the Australian soap opera Home and Away. Terminated their participation, he joined the U.S. teen drama Summerland in the role of Jay Robertson. In 2008 he joined the show True Blood as Jason Stackhouse.

Kwanten was born in Sydney, New South Wales, his parents Eddie Kwanten, an employee of the navy, and Kris, coordinator of charities. Descend by the father of Dutch who settled in Australia. He has two brothers: Mitchell (musician) and Lloyd (doctor) and went to a Catholic school. He began acting intelevision series A Country Practice and Spellbinder 2. In 1997 she joined the cast of Australian soap Home and Away playing the lifeguard Vinnie Patterson.
Eventually he decided to leave the series in 2002 after her character was married and father. Upon moving to the United States was chosen as Jay Robertson on Summerland from 2004 to 2005. He had appearances in the films Flicka (Maria Bello, Alison Lohman and Tim McGraw) and Dead Silence, a horror film in which he starred.
Kwanten played a part in an episode of Law and Order: SVU on December 2nd, 2008 where he played the sergeant in the Marine Corps of the United States Dominic Pruitt, who is falsely accused of rape and murder of a pregnant partner.
In 2009 he starred in Don’t Fade Away with Mischa Barton and Beau Bridges. Currently plays Jason Stackhouse in True Blood, an HBO series based on novels by Charlaine Harris Southern Vampire Mysteries. In 2009 he was nominated for Scream for this character.
