In a nutshell

First up, we're really surprised to learn that Pete is from Hexham in Northumberland. If you don't know the area, it's quite a posh little town that has a market and some scenery and some trees and some posh shops and probably some tea rooms although we don't know that for certain. But what we're saying is, how did a little boy from that town end up in London as, quite probably, one of the most hated celebrities of the moment? Lets try and find out.
Pete's father was an officer in the British army, so he lived in various barracks during his childhood years. But his education seems to be pretty decent if his results are anything to go by. Lots of GCSEs and four A-levels! That's right! FOUR! At the last count that's more than me!
But the education system can't always be a route to ultimate success as moving to London taught him. He ended up filling graves at a cemetery which, aside from writing this, is possibly the worst job we could imagine. Still, he seemed to like it for a time.
Fame bit Pete right on the bum when he formed a band with Carl B?rat called The Libertines. They took off with their album 'Up The Bracket' in 2002 but took a distinct turn for the worse when Pete was jailed for burgling B?rat's flat in 2003. The band 'took a break' but effectively never returned once Pete had left. Most of them are onto other projects, including Pete himself with his band Babyshambles.
Now if there was ever a case of the ugly guy getting the girl, Pete is it. He was romantically linked to Kate Moss for a number of years after meeting her at her birthday party and the up's and down's of their relationship is still covered by the press, much to everyone's delight.
