Mary Tyler Moore Career
Very attractive and passionate about acting, in the late fifties appeared in some television commercials. He obtained his first success, appearing in the role of secretary in a captivating series Richard Diamond, Private Detective (1957-60), where it is noted especially for his long and beautiful legs.
She was noticed by actor Dick Van Dyke, becomes his partner in the sparkling series The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961-66). The show achieved huge success, and with it its wonderful character. Meanwhile, after her divorce from Meeker, in 1962 the actress married television producer Grant Tinker.
In 1970 Mary became the star of the hit sitcom, Mary Tyler Moore in which she plays an independent single woman who moved to Minneapolis to begin a new life after a love affair inconclusive. The themes dealt with by the unconventional series and the excellent test of the actress, makes this a classic TV series. The series, which lasted until 1977, will earn a 4 Emmy awards. The same character also appears in several episodes of the series Rhoda and Phyllis, as well as in the TV movie Mary and Rhoda (2000). She was also cited in the famous song of Buddy Holly Weezer
