In a nutshell

We don't know any Desperate Housewives fan who doesn't love Bree Van de Kamp, and why wouldn't you?
Marcia has had a pretty long and extraordinary acting career. She started on American soap The Edge of Night in 1984 before landing parts in some made-for-TV movies. So far, so 'Joey from Friends'. But things started looking up in 1986 when she joined One Life to Live, a soap opera on ABC on which she stayed until 1987.
In 1992 Marcia started a job with the absolutely-camptastic soap Melrose Place. Although she was only supposed to be around for one series she was so darn good that she kept appearing in further episodes. Marcia's character, Dr Kimberly Shaw, was a hit with viewers because, quite frankly, she was a bit mad. After blowing up buildings, trying her hand at murder and stealing babies, Marcia called it a day and left in 1997.
Marcia cropped up in brilliant comedy Seinfeld where she played Jerry's girlfriend and even classic show Cheers. As if that wasn't enough, Marcia has had roles in Boy Meets World (reminds us of half-term), Ally McBeal (brilliant AT THE TIME), Spin City (never quite took off) and King of Queens (not very good).
Marcia landed the role of Bree in Desperate Housewives in 2004 and has been consistently brilliant. She's had her husband murdered, had spats with the other wives, baked some amazing muffins and everything in-between.
