In a nutshell

We can't think of many other famous actors from Northern Ireland so we're slapping it onto James as his 'USP' ? that's Unique Selling Point, if you're interested. And although that probably isn't the most unique thing about him it's a decent enough start.
James kicked off his career in the 1980s after doing the decent acting thing by studying it for a while and realising he was quite good. Housewives everywhere mustn't worry but for a while acting wasn't always the path he was going to take ? he was planning to follow his family into teaching, specialising in French. Now there would have been a good excuse to go to parent's evening!
One of his first major roles was on ITV's Cold Feet (ask your parents ? it was like a bizarre British, slightly more depressing version of Friends) but James also starred in the Sunday evening drama-lite, Ballykissangel (again, ask your parents).
