Hugh is one of those rare breed of men who are continually adored by women even if he's painted out in the papers to be a dirty dog, or if he does a terrible film, or... well, anything. And we're not jealous of that fact. Much.
Hugh Grant joined Oxford University's Dramatic Society and toured in a production of Twelfth Night but had a variety of jobs before deciding he wanted to be an actor ? everything from writing book reviews, being an assistant groundsman at Fulham football club to tutoring.
Hugh was almost on the verge of quitting the acting game until he came across the script for Four Weddings and a Funeral. It went on to become the highest grossing British film of all time and, in the process, made Hugh an international star. Lucky boy.
Despite coming across as a posh English guy, it's funny to think back to the times when Hugh was proven quite the opposite. In June 2005 he was arrested for misdemeanour lewd conduct in a public place with the lovely-named Divine Brown. But you have to hand it to him, he still appeared soon after on various American chat shows to publicise his latest film, with a refreshing tongue-in-cheek approach.
