In a nutshell

Hayden was born in New York and her mother was a soap actress and her father working in the local fire department.
A 'showbiz' career got off to a particularly early start for Hayden; she started modelling at the age of FOUR! Yes folks, FOUR. And from the age of eleven MONTHS she appeared in TV adverts, starting with an ad for Playskool.
Her first TV acting role was in the show One Life To Live (sounds like daytime trash to us but everybody's got to start somewhere! She then moved onto another soap role, this time called Guiding Light. Her character on the show had to deal with leukaemia and she was awarded a special recognition award by the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Society for her portrayal.
Before the TV show Heroes came along, Hayden actually provided the voice for the character Dot in A Bug's Life and starred in plenty of TV movies and other random shows, including Ally McBeal, Malcolm In The Middle.
Heroes, though, is the role which really made her famous. Shown on BBC Two in the UK, the show basically sums up a group of people with special powers. Playing Claire Bennet who has special healing powers, Hayden has been known as 'the cheerleader'. She started a relationship with one of her co-stars, Milo Ventimiglia, while working on Heroes and they dated until early 2009.
With her cute, wholesome image Hayden was chosen to be the face of Neutrogena's advertising campaign across the globe. And so came posters and adverts of Hayden splashing her soapy face with water so ditch blackheads, have clear healthy skin ...you know the stuff.
It seems that Hayden is quite the little campaigner. In America they have commercials to encourage people to drink milk (?!) and Hayden has offered her services to support the cause, appearing in their 'Got Milk?' poster campaign.
She's also tried to stop an annual dolphin hunt in Japan and claimed an arrest warrant had been issued for her arrest in the country, although the authorities there deny that. Because of her brave efforts to help those cute dolphins, PETA awarded her their 'Compassion in Action' award.
