In a nutshell

Geri Halliwell was always our favourite Spice Girl. She was mad, she'd have boobs popping out all over the shop and generally acted like a young girl on a night out. All the time. And when you're in one of the world's biggest bands, who can argue?
Geri worked all over the place before she made her name in the Spice Girls. She danced in clubs, turned up on a strange Turkish TV show called Let's Make A Deal (she was multi-talented then too, being a presenter stroke model...), worked as an aerobics instructor and, of course, a topless model. Yay!
Huge success arrived in the form of the Spice Girls in which Geri was given the nickname 'Ginger Spice'. Their first single, Wannabe, zoomed straight into the number one spot and the rest is history. For the record, our favourite Spice singles are 'Viva Forever' and '2 Become 1', what about you?
Geri's mother is called Ana Maria, a lovely Spanish lady who featured heavily in the fly-on-the-wall programmes following Geri after she left the Spice Girls.
The world was shocked when Geri left the Spice Girls, way back in 1998, and it wasn't long until she released her first solo single, Look At Me. She managed four number ones in total, which ain't bad work if you think about it.
She toned down the slap, became more of a 'lady' and even became a UN Goodwill ambassador for a while. Her last album, called Passion, didn't do very well at all. Which is a shame. Her lead single, Ride It, hung around for a few weeks but when the album was finally released it didn't even scrape into the top 40. Ouch.
In her personal life Geri was linked several times to DJ Chris Evans, although nothing much ever came of it. She gave birth to a daughter in 2006 although the father's identity is a little bit of a mystery to us...
