In a nutshell

Diaz is a funny one. And we mean that in the nicest possible way, of course. Although she's a pretty big star we just don't get the impression that she has really made that much of an impact. Can you name one of her films off the top of your head? Okay, 'Charlie's Angels', we'll give you that. Any others?
Cam started out aged 16 as a model when she was spotted (whose job is it to go wandering the streets and 'spotting' people, anyway?) by a modelling agency. She worked all over the world and was even on the cover of the July 1990 issue of Seventeen magazine.
Although she had no acting experience she put herself forward for a role in 'The Mask' alongside Jim Carrey. What an awesome film, we'd totally forgotten about it!
She got the part and went on to get jobs on some other films like 'Feeling Minnesota' and 'She's The One'.
Her biggest successes came with releases like 'My Best Friend's Wedding' and 'There's Something About Mary'. Although not what you'd call a 'serious' film, she was nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Actress ? Musical or Comedy. More award nominations were to follow, though, for her performance in 'Being John Malkovich'. The Best Supporting Actress nominations came from the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs.
In other news, Cameron has admitted in the past that she suffers from OCD (that's Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, folks) and has rubbed door knobs so hard before opening them that the original paint has come off. Now we don't know if that's true but if it is we surely should all feel sorry for the door knobs.
