Alexa Chung Biography

In a nutshell

As most of these girly TV presenters are, Alexa was first spotted out and about by a modelling agency. The first time around it transpires that she didn't do anything about the approach but, with luck striking twice, got spotted again a couple of years later before being snapped up by Storm Models.
She's the youngest of four children and was brought up by her English mother and Chinese father. If she'd been downright ugly we hear she was planning to attend Chelsea College of Art and Design ? luckily for her, she's 'quite pretty' and went with the modelling instead.
You might, like us, remember hating her when she bagged her first proper presenting role on T4's now defunct Popworld show. Quite frankly we didn't think she was any good but the 'big wigs' thought differently and she's continued presenting.
Although presenting all sorts of stuff at the moment, from a slot on Gok Wan's Fashion Fix to the awful Vanity Lair on T4, Alexa continues to model. You can currently spot her as the face of Oxfam's ethical range, Revamped, and as the face of Antipodium's Spring Summer collection. (You need more money for that one. Perhaps stick with the Oxfam stuff...)
We're not experts on women's fashion but open any copy of the weekly gossip magazines and Alexa is on the pages in whatever it is she's wearing this week. That might be nice for the readers but she doesn't particularly like the title of It Girl, proclaiming, 'There's not much to being an It Girl. It's really quite a depressing title to hold.'
As we write this, Alexa is probably hand in hand with boyfriend Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys, buying coffee, wearing huge shades, that sort of thing.
She managed to get her own show on MTV over in the States but unfortunately - due to either the credit crunch, or the fact the show wasn't exactly a hit with viewers, or both of those things - it was cancelled.
