Agnes had a head start in life by having a cool retro name. If she'd been called, say, Sarah or Michelle, we doubt she'd be having half the success she's managed so far. But anyway ? being called an ambassador of British youth culture is definitely something this girl should be proud of.
Born in Failsworth, Greater Manchester meant an ordinary start in life. Going to school, working in the local fish and chip shop, that sort of thing. But things took a different turn when she was spotted by ? wait for it ? Rossendale Free Press in their 'Face of 99' modelling competition. After moving to London it's claimed her northern attitude (ie, slamming down her portfolio in Models 1 and refusing to leave until she was signed) gave her the drive to excel where others may have failed.
Things have really exploded for Agnes ? in her short career up to now she's already been on the cover of American and British Vogue as well as being featured in The Sunday Times Style magazine, Grazia, i-D and Pop.
You could be forgiven for finding Agnes a little bit irritating. After all, she's doing well for herself, is seen at all of the best parties, dresses well, probably earns a fortune etc etc etc. But, after we heard her on the Chris Moyles show, she's actually not that bad. Honest. Give the girl a chance.
